Denmark: Frederiksborg Slot - Coat of Arm

Coat of Arms

What a funny choice of imagery
For the Coat of Arms!

Hidden in the midst of others
Filled with Armours, Horses and Castles,
Here lies a Devil in Red
Waiting to be found

Denmark: Frederiksborg Slot - Room 33, 60-68

Room 33

The story behind this room
Is that I had almost missed it
I couldnt locate the way into the stretch for room 38, 60-68 on level 1
We came across a friendly patrolling security
who kindly obliged us with a shortcut through the "No admitance"
Apparently we have missed the connecting stairs from level 3
It was then he told us,
that every room in this stretch has a different and unique ceiling and flooring.

Now what do you know?
I may never have noticed this fact if we hadnt missed the stairs in the first place!
Isnt it some good fortune at play!

Room 67

Ceiling upclose of Room 67
The ceilings were truly spectacular!
Splendid!
Adoring!

Denmark: Frederiksborg Slot - City Portrait of the Olden Days

An artist rendering of the city back then

Denmark: Frederiksborg Slot - A Classic and a Modern Find

A Classic Find -H.C Anderson Portrait

A Modern Find - Princess Mary of Denmark

I would have almost missed the portrait
of the infamous H.C Anderson
There wasnt special flags or pointers
And it was hung in a room full of portraits.
It was a stroke of luck to even see him there
"Sitting" calmly above my head

Denmark: Frederiksborg Slot - Duo Portraits in one

2-in-1 Duo Portrait

View from the Left

View from the Right
By default
I am not a fan of the countless self portraits of the Kings and Queens
However this little artwork caught the corners of my eyes
As I stroll down the long corridor

It was the protuding dimension
that had piqued my interest.
I wasnt wrong to stop and inspect this little gem
Must have taken the artist much workand ffort to align and paint
On the individual triangular strips
Wonder what had propel him to do so?

Denmark: Frederiksborg Slot

It was suppose to be something interesting
But I had forgotten to jot down what it was...
Sigh...

Denmark: Frederiksborg Slot - Zodiac Globe

Zodiac Globe
What a clever, delightful conception!

Denmark: Frederiksborg Slot - The Great Hall

The Great Hall - Opposite the Entrance

Entrance of The Great Hall
Marked Room 38
Reconstructed as it would have been
In the time of Christian IV.

Would have been nice
if the glaringly eyesore scaffolding wasnt in the way
